The New York Times bestseller takes us on an empowering journey and changes the way we believe concerning fighting cancer
David Servan-Schreiber's story of his journey from cancer patient to health combines memoir together with a clear scientific explanation of what makes cancer cells thrive and what inhibits them. Anticancer is filled together with simple to comprehend charts and diagrams and a sixteen-page color "Anticancer Action" insert this enables readers to do small but necessary changes in way of life and diet. Your body recognizes how to fight cancer, says Servan-Schreiber, and you have to help it together with nutrition, physical exercise, stress management, and avoiding environmental toxins. Anticancer enables people living together with cancer to adopt a proactive attitude to living, even thriving, together with cancer and helps healthy people prevent it. |

Life changing 2010-09-03 |
| By Karissa |
| Recently being diagnosed with grade II glioma, a brain cancer, I was undergoing unexpected confusion and depression regarding my future. I came across this book and figured "sure, why not?". It was amazing. It hit every aspect of my life, from detailed diet guidance to mental support. It has led me to the empowering practice of meditation and has lessened my fear of what may come. This man is amazing! I love how he includes examples from his own life as well as those he has encountered. I highly recommend this book to anyone who has entered the world of cancer, as well as those who are determined to avoid ever entering. |
Anti-cancer Must Read!!! 2010-08-26 |
| By Madeline Rodriguez (New Jersey, USA) |
This source has propelled me to do what I've known for a long time: "reduce in great deal the consumption of refined sugar" and incorporate a few additional nutritional items, as well as better focus on meditation, to my daily routine.
I got this book as I saw it advertised in the "O" show and Dr. Oz's show to read as I flew into Vegas during my 44th birthday week. I have been trying to better balance my life from the inside. I have read many sources on nutrition and spirituality over the course of many years although I have sort of let go of myself a bit. I have found the latest and wisest information on cancer prevention and/or cancer nutrition as well as great encouragement in taking better charge in all I put in my body. The information in this book is absolutely astonishing.
Thank you Dr. Servan-Schreiber for sharing so much.
Beyond that, the feeling of doing better when you know different is very gratifying. I have always been big in the notion of prevention and thinking that I could be doing so much to stay cancer free is very empowering. I, like probably many readers, have lost a couple of family members to cancer, including my most significant family member, my sister and wish I had known better at the time.
I encourage others to read this source and see for themselves what's in it for them, more so if you or a dear one have been diagnosed with any type of cancer. You will be amaze and eternally grateful! |

Anticancer--A New Way of Life
By David Servan-Schreiber, MD, PhD
ISBN-10: 0-670-02034-6
ISBN-13: 978-0-670-02034-8 (Penguin Group, 2008)
They say nothing speaks more clearly than experience, and when you add to that the academic background of David Servan-Schreiber you end up with a powerful message that can transform your life. I have read a lot of books on how to treat and avoid cancer but none as comprehensive as this. As we transcend from a purely traditional approach to alternative approaches it will be important to balance both. This book covers everything from a sensible diet to precautionary measures to take for everyday stress, environmental changes, and even cell phones.
